UNISA Yogyakarta Reciprocal Visit 2026 Strengthens International Academic Collaboration

A meaningful reciprocal visit by Universitas ‘Aisyiyah Yogyakarta took place at SEGi University on 26 January 2026 under the International Student Mobility Programme. Hosted by the Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment, the initiative brought together the Department of Architecture and the Department of Interior Architecture in a vibrant exchange of academic ideas and cross cultural perspectives.

The visit gathered students and lecturers from both institutions through a series of engaging academic activities. Lecture exchanges, student project exhibitions and presentations, hands on workshops, and a guided campus tour created valuable opportunities for knowledge sharing and peer learning. These sessions fostered deeper cultural appreciation while strengthening professional connections within the architecture and interior architecture disciplines.

This reciprocal engagement builds upon a collaboration initiated during a delegation visit to UNISA Yogyakarta on 25 June 2025. That earlier exchange saw active participation in joint academic sessions hosted by UNISA. A key outcome of the visit was the signing of a five year Memorandum of Understanding that formalised cooperation in academic programme development, student and staff mobility, joint seminars and conferences, and collaborative research initiatives.

The January 2026 visit reflects the continued momentum of this partnership and highlights a shared commitment to advancing internationalisation in higher education. Sustained collaboration with global partners enhances international academic exposure while preparing students for an increasingly interconnected professional landscape.

This initiative supports several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4 Quality Education, SDG 9 Industry Innovation and Infrastructure, and SDG 11 Sustainable Cities and Communities, reinforcing the importance of globally connected education in shaping sustainable futures.
