SEGi University Kota Damansara hosted the Tekken 8 Tournament 2026 on 5 March 2026 at the L1.4 Esports Lab, bringing together students for an engaging day of competitive gaming, teamwork and student led event management.
Organised by students from the Faculty of Engineering, Built Environment and Information Technology as part of the MPU3432 Co Curriculum: Sustainability Thinking course, the tournament was held in collaboration with the Gamers Vault Society. The event provided students with a meaningful opportunity to experience the planning and execution of a structured esports competition within a university setting.
From participant coordination and match scheduling to technical arrangements and event flow, the organising committee gained practical exposure to key aspects of event management. The experience allowed students to apply classroom learning in a dynamic environment while developing communication, leadership and operational skills.
The tournament featured group stage matches followed by knockout rounds, with participants competing in best of three and best of five formats. Throughout the competition, players demonstrated strong strategic thinking, quick decision making and technical gameplay as they advanced towards the grand final.
The event concluded with a prize giving session, where the champion, runner up and third place winners were recognised for their performance and sportsmanship.
Beyond the competitive element, the Tekken 8 Tournament 2026 also encouraged student engagement, social connection and wellbeing.
