SEGi University proudly hosted MIID Students’ Saturday 2025 on 11 October 2025, bringing together more than 22 universities and colleges from across Malaysia for a vibrant national celebration of creativity, innovation, and interior architecture education.
The event was recently featured in MIID Inside e magazine, in the October to December 2025 issue, marking another meaningful recognition of SEGi University’s role in supporting the growth of future design professionals.
Centred on the theme “Speculative,” the event encouraged students to think beyond conventional design boundaries. Participants were challenged to explore future possibilities in interior architecture by questioning norms, experimenting with materials, and developing ideas that respond to evolving social and environmental needs.
The programme featured 11 design competitions, including Legacy, Sketching, Installation, Ideation, and Theatrics. These competitions provided students with the opportunity to demonstrate creativity, technical ability, teamwork, and sustainable thinking in a dynamic and competitive environment.
A key highlight of the event was the Drone Technology Workshop, which introduced participants to AI integrated drone applications relevant to design development and building inspection. This session reflected the growing importance of technology in shaping the future of architecture, interior design, and the built environment.
SEGi University extends its appreciation to MIID, the MIIDSS Committee, Premium Sponsor Top Mix, judges, sponsors, and partners for their valuable support in making the event a success. Their contribution helped create a meaningful platform for students to learn, connect, and showcase their potential.
The success of MIID Students’ Saturday 2025 reflects SEGi University’s continued commitment to advancing quality education in interior architecture. By supporting platforms that combine creativity, innovation, technology, and industry engagement, SEGi remains dedicated to nurturing future ready graduates who are prepared to contribute meaningfully to the design profession.
