In her keynote address titled “Building Sustainable and Ethical AI Ready Societies: The Way Forward,” Dr. Nair highlighted the growing importance of embedding ethical principles, sustainability considerations and responsible governance into the development and deployment of artificial intelligence. As AI continues to transform industries, economies and societies, she emphasised that technological progress must be guided by strong values, inclusive decision making and a commitment to long term social impact.

Dr. Nair also spoke on the need for stronger collaboration between academia, industry and policymakers to ensure that AI technologies are developed and applied in ways that benefit society while addressing risks, inequalities and emerging ethical concerns. Her address reinforced the importance of building AI ready societies that are not only technologically advanced, but also socially responsible and sustainably driven.

A key focus of her presentation was the role of higher education institutions in preparing graduates for a rapidly changing global landscape. Dr. Nair underscored that future graduates must be equipped not only with technical knowledge, but also with ethical awareness, critical thinking, adaptability and a strong sense of social responsibility.

Her insights aligned closely with the forum’s mission of shaping future ready graduates who are capable of navigating complex global challenges with integrity, innovation and purpose.
