Academic achievement is more than results on paper. It reflects discipline, resilience, and the ability to consistently push boundaries. At SEGi University, these qualities were brought to life during the Bachelor of Electrical and Electronics Engineering AGM and Dean’s List Award Ceremony 2026, held on 10 February in Room R2.5.
The session opened with a warm welcome by Ir. Dr. Shamini A/P P. Janasekaran, setting the tone for a gathering that was both reflective and forward-looking. Ts. Vinukumar Luckose, Programme Leader of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, introduced the academic team and shared key updates on the programme’s direction. Students were given a clearer view of what lies ahead, including academic developments, upcoming initiatives, and how the Outcome-Based Education framework continues to shape meaningful learning experiences aligned with industry expectations. The role of the Industry Advisory Panel and external advisors was also highlighted, reinforcing the programme’s strong industry relevance.
The highlight of the event saw 19 students from the May 2025 and September 2025 semesters recognised for their exceptional academic performance. Each recipient of the Dean’s List and High Achiever awards demonstrated not only academic excellence but also the determination required to succeed in a demanding field. Their achievements stand as a benchmark for their peers and a reminder that consistent effort delivers tangible outcomes.
Beyond recognition, the event created space for growth. A team-building session led by Mr. Chong Hock Siong and student Nur Haziq Bin Mohamad Nor brought energy into the room, encouraging collaboration, communication, and leadership. Through interactive challenges, students stepped beyond the classroom, strengthening interpersonal skills that are essential in real-world engineering environments.
More than an annual gathering, the event reflected a larger purpose. It reinforced the importance of developing engineers who are not only technically competent but also adaptable, collaborative, and ready to contribute meaningfully in a rapidly evolving world.
This event is organised in support of the following United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG):
