BQS AGM 2026 Sets the Tone for a Strong Academic Year

The Bachelor of Quantity Surveying programme held its Annual General Meeting on 3 February 2026, bringing together students and academic staff to reflect on past achievements while setting clear direction for the new semester.

The session opened with an inspiring address by Programme Leader Sr Ts. Eunice Chia Mei Ling, who warmly welcomed students back to campus and shared words of encouragement for the months ahead. Emphasising discipline, resilience, and continuous improvement, she encouraged students to remain focused on their academic goals and actively embrace the opportunities available throughout the semester.

A detailed review of the previous examination diet was presented, offering valuable insights into overall performance trends. Areas of strength were highlighted alongside aspects requiring further attention, providing students with a clearer understanding of how to better prepare for future assessments. Academic excellence was celebrated during the recognition of Dean’s List recipients and Merit Scholarship awardees, whose achievements reflected dedication, perseverance, and strong academic commitment.

Beyond academics, the AGM also prioritised student connection and engagement. A team building session involving both juniors and seniors created opportunities for meaningful interaction and collaboration. The activities strengthened camaraderie within the BQS community while fostering a supportive and positive learning environment.

One of the key highlights of the AGM was the election of the new SQSC Club Committee. Yu Jing Han, a Year 2 BQS student from China, was elected as President, while Darian Safidy Dupres, a Year 2 student from Seychelles, was appointed as Vice President. Sr Ts. Eunice expressed heartfelt appreciation to the outgoing committee for their contributions and conveyed confidence that the new leadership will continue to drive impactful initiatives and strengthen student engagement moving forward.

This initiative reflects a strong commitment to holistic student development, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4 Quality Education, SDG 5 Gender Equality, and SDG 17 Partnerships for the Goals.
