DATIN PROF. DR. MARIANI MD NOR

Datin Prof. Dr. Mariani Md Nor brings over three decades of academic leadership and scholarly excellence to her role as Acting Vice Chancellor of SEGi University. She holds a PhD in Children’s Cognitive Psychology from the University of Bristol.

She spent 28 years at the Universiti Malaya, including serving as Dean of the Faculty of Education. During her tenure, the Faculty achieved a QS World University Rankings by Subject position of No. 41 globally.

Since joining SEGi University in 2020, she has served as Dean of the Faculty of Education, Languages, Psychology and Music, driving curriculum innovation and academic governance.

Nationally, she is a recognised authority in Early Childhood Education, having served as President of the Early Childhood Care & Education (ECCE) Council Malaysia, chaired the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) Programme Standards for ECCE and actively contributes to policy dialogues with the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development.

Internationally, she serves on the Steering Committee of the Asia-Pacific Regional Network for Early Childhood (ARNEC) and collaborates with global partners across Asia-Pacific, Europe, and Australia.

A prolific scholar and keynote speaker, her work has earned multiple national and international awards. Beyond academia, she is an active public intellectual and advocate for marginalised communities, including the Orang Asli.
